Several local bands play free concerts throughout the day, and guests can shop or eat at one of the booths around the festival.

Orlando takes the 4th of July seriously, which is why the city organizes a massive fireworks display every year. The city of Orlando spends thousands of dollars on this celebration. Guests start gathering around the fountain in Lake Eola Park early in the day, just to get a good seat for the show. The fireworks display has a festive feel with families and couples sitting on blankets and in chairs, sharing stories and food as the fireworks go off.

When spring comes, people head to Orlando for the annual Fiesta in the Park celebration. This event gives people who love crafts the chance to show their homemade goods. Guests can register for the contests and win prizes if they place in any of the events. Fiesta in the Park awards prizes for best in show, best folk art and several other categories. Those who do not enter any of the contests can still wander around the park, purchase handicrafts, look at the entries and see the sites in the park.

While many people know New York City as the place to be on New Year's Eve, others know that Orlando has its own New Year's celebration. The city shuts down several streets right in the heart of downtown for a loud and out of control street party. Vendors selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are on every corner, bands perform on the street and in local nightclubs and everyone gets the chance to have fun until well after midnight.
